5 Easy Steps to Install Car Decals

How to Install Car Decals:

Car decals are a fantastic way to personalize your vehicle. Whether you’re looking to add a touch of style, promote your business, pay tribute to a loved one or simply make a statement, decals can transform the look of your car. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of installing car decals with ease.

Step 1:

Decide where you want your car decal to sit. The best place to choose is smooth and flat: decals won’t look so good when placed over a join or bump in the surface. Car windows, door panels, the bonnet or the boot all offer plenty of smooth space for decal placement. You can also place decals on windows as long as they don’t obstruct your vision.

Step 2:

Prep the Area when you know where you want to place your decal, it’s time to prep the area. Wash the area with warm soapy water to get rid of any dirt and grime, for small decals you can wipe over the area with an alcohol swab. Don’t use any harsh cleaners or products with an oil or wax base as they will affect the decal adhesive, window cleaners are also not considered to be a good cleaning agent as the adhesive will not adhere. Leave it to dry fully before applying the decal.

Step 3:

Carefully peel the transfer sheet away from the backing sheet, your decal should stay attached to your transfer sheet - If the decal does not stick to the transfer sheet, lay it back down and give a firm rub to ensure the decal lifts with the transfer sheet. Place the transfer sheet, Sticky side/decal down onto your chosen area you can now use a credit card or small squeegee to push out any air bubbles. Don’t move onto the next step until you’re sure the decal has no air bubbles left.

Step 4:

Carefully and slowly peel away the transfer sheet away from the decal at a 45-degree angle, as you pull the sheet away your decal should remain on the prepared area on your car.

Step 5:

Once you have fully removed the Transfer sheet you should now have your decal adhered to the chosen area. Wait at least 24 hours before getting the area wet if possible. You are now done! Enjoy!

Remember, patience is key, and taking your time will ensure the best outcome. 🚗✨
